About JACKS
Miriam Jacks and Beauty, a story that started early: As a child I knew that my fascination for my mother’s make-up was more than just a game. I developed a passion for make-up. This enthusiasm was a firm desire to become a make-up artist & hairstylist. After school I took the first major step to achieve my goal: I went to New York! During my one year stay, I researched prestigious schools in the industry and a short time after I found myself above the clouds heading to Los Angeles.
Once there, I was quickly thrown into cold water. I worked with professionals on film sets and assisted for big photo productions. After completing my training at the "Make-Up Designory School" and richer of a lot of experience and contacts, I moved to Cologne to take the first steps into the make-up and TV industry in Germany. I quickly realized that a lot of strength, courage and, above all, commitment were needed to position myself in the scene and to preserve jobs. I managed to get started and was quickly booked for larger productions. And three years flew by!
Inspired by the amazing small make-up shops in America, where I regularly discovered new labels, a brilliant idea crossed my mind: to open up my make-up store!
Furthermore, the products I had bought in LA and used at my job were very popular with my customers, colleagues and friends. I still remember vividly how I called my dad to find out what he thought of my plan to become my own boss and that I was almost shocked when he said: "I think it is a great idea!"
So at the age of 24 I started searching for the perfect location of my first "beauty department”. On my fantastic journey to becoming an entrepreneur I found Berlin an inspirational place wherefore I decided to move over there in September 2008. Another important reason for my removal was that my agency, "Nina Klein", also had its headquarters there.
The removal to Berlin opened many doors: I continued working hand in hand with popular photographers, magazines, celebrities and stylists. But above all, I finally found the perfect shop for "JACKS Beauty Department"!
Almost 3 years later and richer by a lot of experience, I know what it is like to run a store. It's a lot of fun, but it’s not always all pink and glittery. My Job also requires a whole lot creativity, courage and energy to coordinate and run my own shop. Therefore, I am more than proud of what has become of what was only an idea only a few years ago.
All this was made possible by those surrounding me. I’m very happy that a wonderful and dedicated team is running the Beauty Department and Hairlounge in Berlin which allows me to focus on realizing my JACKS beauty issue magazine, my JACKS beauty line, further stores in other cities and on furthering my career as a beauty expert.

Here we have everything women love, from make-up consultations, styling for all occasions including bridal styling and make-up parties to a fine selection of international products. You will find all of this in a very personal and relaxed atmosphere. In our integrated "Hairlounge" you can also get a personal and honest type and hair consulting, get your hair dyed, get extensions or a trendy haircut.
